With forested rolling hills and a 53-acre lake, this 239-acre county park offers an excellent location for year-round birding and wildlife viewing. Explore the park by foot on 3 miles of moderately difficult trails or by water via boat, kayak or canoe. The area is locally popular for bird watching, particularly on the lake itself, which hosts a diversity of waterfowl in the winter, some shorebirds in the spring, and common loons in spring and fall. The park is also popular for viewing migrating wood warblers, which are attracted to the park’s forests surrounding the lake during spring and fall. Bald Eagle, Red-shouldered Hawk, Belted Kingfisher, Cedar Waxwing, and a diversity of woodpeckers have been observed year-round. Summer birding opportunities include wading birds, flycatchers, swallows, and orioles. In addition to the birds, careful observers may spot American beaver, eastern painted turtles, and American toads. On warm summer days, a diversity of butterflies may be observed, including silvery checkerspots, eastern swallowtails, and pipevine swallowtails.

The Earlysville Farmers Market offers an average of 6 - 12 vendors weekly on Thursdays 4 - 7 pm, displaying a fabulous assortment of fresh, local produce, a variety of plants and eggs, pulled pork barbecue, luscious home-baked goods, breads, jams, honey & more. You will also discover a unique array of area Artisan crafts. A great stop for gifts from the Piedmont, Mud Dauber's gallery features a wide variety of stoneware vessels, teapots, dinnerware, tiles, sinks, and other handcrafted items such as jewelry, scarves, and ornaments.

"We are an active community resource center that fully engages and connects Earlysville residents with one another while serving those in greatest need. To help determine specific needs and best provide the necessary assistance, we collaborate with local schools, area churches, community or civic organizations, and government agencies.

You will find affordable gently used seasonal clothing, shoes, books, household goods, and furniture. We also provide a place for community residents to gather over a cup of coffee or tea.

Profits go to directly support the local community through special programs and partners of the community resource center. We are committed to serving those who are in need in body, mind, or spirit. As of June 2024, we've given more than $224,000.00 to other area non-profit organizations since November 2014!"
